Australian Culinary Federation School Competition
The Prepare Produce Provide team had the honour of supporting two talented Ballajura Community College students - Mitchell Cartwright and Quenlyn Clifton at the Australian Culinary Federation National School Competition in Adelaide held over the weekend of 21st - 22nd September.
This incredible event featured young chefs from all over the nation, with this year’s challenge centred around creating a standout dish featuring poultry. The ACF competition not only showcases students’ culinary talents but also offered a glimpse into the hospitality industry, paving the way for future training and career opportunities.
The rigorous competition began at the Adelaide Markets, where the team gathered fresh produce for their dish before returning to the kitchens to apply their precision cutting skills and bone their own chicken. The boys received invaluable mentorship from Chef Ben Thies, along with guidance from Cath MacDougall (Prepare Produce Provide Founder) and Prepare Produce Provide Chef Tanya Healy
A huge shoutout to the boys for bringing home the bronze for WA with an impressive score of over 70 points!
We also want to extend our gratitude to the entire support team that made this achievement possible.
After the competition, everyone enjoyed the flavours of Adelaide with tours of chocolate and lolly factories and visits to key restaurants, to explore the diverse cuisines and produce of South Australia.
